Figures 4–5 View FIGURE 4 View FIGURE 5

Description. Male. Body small. Fastigium verticis conical, with a narrow longitudinal furrow on dorsal surface, apex rounded ( Fig. 4A View FIGURE 4 ). Eyes nearly hemispherical, protruding outward. Apical segments of maxillary palpi slightly longer than subapical ones, apices slightly inflated.

Anterior margin of pronotum nearly straight, posterior margin narrowly rounded ( Fig. 4A View FIGURE 4 ); lateral lobes longer than high, humeral sinus indistinct ( Fig. 4B View FIGURE 4 ).

Tegmina extending beyond posterior margin of pronotum, reaching the posterior margin of 2nd abdominal tergite or the basal area of 3rd abdominal tergite, posterior margin bluntly rounded. Hind wing absent.

Fore coxae with 1 small spine ( Fig. 4A View FIGURE 4 ). Middle femora unarmed on ventral surface, apices of genicular lobes of hind femora obtusely rounded. Fore tibiae ventrally with 4 internal spines, 5 external spines and 1 pair of apical spines; fore tibial tympana opened on both sides, ovoid. Middle tibiae with 4 pairs of spines on ventral surface and 1 pair of apical spurs on ventral surface. Hind tibiae with 23–26 internal spines and 25–27 external spines on dorsal surface, ventral surfaces with 3 internal spines and 3–5 external spines, apices with 1 pair of dorsal spurs and 2 pairs of ventral spurs.

Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite arched concave ( Fig. 4C View FIGURE 4 ). Three-quarters of the base area of cerci lobate expansion ( Fig. 4D View FIGURE 4 ), with 1 small tuberculate process on ventral surface in the middle ( Fig. 4G View FIGURE 4 ); apical one-third incurved and bifurcate, the dorsal branch about as long as ventral one, apices obtuse ( Fig. 4F View FIGURE 4 ). Subgenital plate with transverse base, then narrowing to apex, apical area subtrapezoidal projecting ( Fig. 4H View FIGURE 4 ). Styli slender, cylindrical, inserted on subapical area of subgenital plate on both sides ( Fig. 4I View FIGURE 4 ).

Female. Similar in appearance to male. Tegmina concealed beneath pronotum or surpassing the posterior margin of pronotum and reaching the posterior margin of second abdominal tergite. Lateral margins of eighth abdominal tergite with obtuse apex, its ventral surface with 1 small spine ( Fig. 5D View FIGURE 5 ); posterior margin of ninth abdominal tergite arched; tenth abdominal tergite narrow, posterior margin faintly concave in the middle ( Fig. 5C View FIGURE 5 ). Epiproct small. Cerci conical, tip pointed. Ovipositor base stout, narrowing towards to tip, dorsal and ventral margins smooth, dorsal valvulae with acute apex, ventral valvulae with 1 small hook ( Fig. 5F View FIGURE 5 ). Subgenital plate basal margin arched, lateral margins constricted in the middle, posterior margin obtusely rounded, ventral surface furrowed along the midline ( Fig. 5F View FIGURE 5 ).

Coloration. Body yellowish brown. Face brownish or blackish brown. Internal margins of antennal sockets, scape and pedicelli black brown, flagellar segments each with a blackish ring. Dorsal surface of head brown with 4 longitudinal black stripes, the internal stripes fused at the apex of fastigium verticis, the external stripes extending to the internal margins of antennal sockets. Disc of pronotum brown with a longitudinal black stripe on each side, which extending to the middle area of metazona. Apices of femora black brown, tibiae with blackish brown area on basal and apical areas. Abdominal tergites black brown, sternites brownish.

Measurements (mm). BL: ♂ 7.2–8.2, ♀ 7.5–9.8; PL: ♂ 4.4–4.5, ♀ 4.3–4.5; TL: ♂ 2.3–2.6, ♀ 2.5–2.8; HFL: ♂ 8.4–8.8, ♀ 8.7–9.1; OvL: 6.2–6.7.

Material examined. Holotype: male, Pianma, Lushui, August 8, 2023, coll. by Siyu Pang and Ting Luo. Paratypes: 4 males and 4 females, the other information as holotype.

Distribution. Yunnan (Lushui).

Discussion. The new species differs from other species of Phlugiolopsis by: male cerci ventrally with 1 small tuberculate process in the middle area, apical area with dorsal and ventral branches nearly equal in length; female abdominal tergite with 1 conical process on lateral angles.

Etymology. The new species name is derived from the structure of the female eighth abdominal tergite with 1 conical process on each side at the apex of the lateral margins.
