Pseudopelmatops Shiraki View in CoL
Pseudopelmatops Shiraki, 1933: 49 View in CoL . Type-species: P. nigricostalis Shiraki, 1933 View in CoL , by original designation.
Pseudopelmatops View in CoL was proposed by Shiraki (1933) for a single species, P. nigricostalis View in CoL from Taiwan, China. Zia & Chen (1954) added two species from Zhejiang, China, P. angustifasciatus View in CoL and P. continentalis View in CoL . Chen et al (2010) revised this genus, added two more species, P. indiaensis Chen View in CoL from India and P. yunnanensis Chen View in CoL from China, and provided a key. In subsequent years, some new information on its distribution and biology has accumulated. The northernmost distribution of the genus is now known to extend to Shaanxi and Henan Provinces in central China which is regarded as the Oriental-Palearctic transition zone. Detailed environmental conditions at the collection sites of P. angustifasciatus View in CoL and P. continentalis View in CoL are also reported here and analyzed, and observations of the behaviour of these species in the field are recorded for the first time. In addition, P. angustifasciatus View in CoL is first recorded from Vietnam, and the male is associated with the female by mating behaviour and described for the first time. Moreover, we provide supplemental morphological information for P. angustifasciatus View in CoL , P. continentalis View in CoL , P. indiaensis View in CoL and P. yunnanensis View in CoL .
