Although Illiger is cited after cyanescens, Ratzeburg View in CoL is the author of the taxon. Ratzeburg’s citation of Illiger’s name relates to his remark: “ Cyanescens View in CoL von Illiger in Berl. Mus. genannt”.

Type locality: not given, but presumably Germany as indicated from the title: “Wäldern Preufsens”.
