Female macroptera. Body dark brown ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 1–10 ). Antennal segment III yellowish, shaded with brown at apical half; the remaining segments dark brown. All femora dark brown; fore tibiae yellowish, shaded with pale brown, mid and hind tibiae brown with bases and apices yellowish; tarsi yellow. Fore wings weakly shaded with brown. Body setae almost colourless. Head longer than wide ( Fig. 72 View FIGURES 72–79 ), about 1.14 times as long as wide in holotype; dorsal surface generally sculptured with transverse reticulation, but ocellar triangle with polygonal reticulation. Cheeks very weakly rounded, very weakly narrowed toward base. Postocular setae a little longer than eyes. Postocellar setae almost as long as a diameter of posterior ocellus, or a little longer. Eyes 0.34–0.36 times as long as head in holotype. Antennal segments VII and VIII somewhat broadly fused, but VIII not constricted basally ( Fig. 73 View FIGURES 72–79 ); segment III with three sense cones; segment IV the largest, with a series of 18–19 short and stout setae on ventral surface, segments V and VI each with 11–13 and 6–8 same setae ( Fig. 74 View FIGURES 72–79 ), respectively. Maxillary stylets long, reaching compound eyes, rather close together, closer than 1/4 of the head width apart at the basal collar of head. Pronotum almost smooth, about 0.6 times as long as head and 2.03 times as wide as long in holotype; epim the longest, pa 0.59–0.62 times as long as median length of pronotum. Metanotum ( Fig. 75 View FIGURES 72–79 ) polygonally reticulated anteriorly, longitudinally reticulated posteriorly. Mesopresternum and mesoeusternum ( Fig. 76 View FIGURES 72–79 ) narrowly fused, somewhat long sutures between them at both sides. Fore tarsus unarmed. Fore wings with 4–6 duplicated cilia, 5– 5 in holotype. Pelta trapezoid ( Fig. 75 View FIGURES 72–79 ). Tergites normal ( Fig. 78 View FIGURES 72–79 ), tergites III – V much wider than pronotum. S1 setae on tergite IX weakly expanded, about 0.8 times as long as tube, S2 blunt or very weakly expanded, a little shorter than S1. Tube ( Fig. 79 View FIGURES 72–79 ) 0.55 times as long as head in holotype. Anal setae almost as long as or a little shorter than tube .
Measurements. Female holotype (mac.) in microns. Distended body length 1950. Head length 183, width across cheeks 161. Compound eye dorsal length 63–65. Pronotum length 110, width 223. Fore wing length about 820. Tube length 100, width across base 54. Antenna length about 400, segments III–VIII length (width) as follows: 61 (34), 67 (35), 53 (28), 50 (25), 47 (21), 33 (13). Postocular setae 70–73. Pronotal aa 48–50, am 48–50, ml 56–60, pa 65–68, epim 75–78. S1 setae on tergite IX 79–82, S2 setae on tergite IX 74–78. Anal setae 95–96.
Type series. Holotype female (mac.): Borneo, Sabah, about 3km N from Kundasang , on dead leaves and branches, 6.ix.1990 (TN & SO) . Paratypes: Borneo, 2 females (mac.), collected with holotype .
Remarks. A. longior is slightly similar to A. dasycornis in having brown body and a series of short and stout setae on the ventral surface of intermediate antennal segments at least in the macropterous female (cf. Fig. 74 View FIGURES 72–79 ). However, A. longior has the maxillary stylets long and rather close and retracted to the posterior margins of the compound eyes ( Fig. 72 View FIGURES 72–79 ), also the mesopresternum and mesoeusternum are narrowly fused ( Fig. 76 View FIGURES 72–79 ). In contrast, A. dasycornis has short and rather wide maxillary stylets ( Figs. 55 & 56 View FIGURES 55–61 ), and broadly fused mesopresternum and mesoeusternum ( Fig.59 View FIGURES 55–61 ).
