Studied material. 1 female: “Khami, S. Rhodesia ” (without date) ( MRAC) ; 1 female: “ Zimbabwe W\ Bulawayo, Shangani \ Naletale ruins env.\ 20.12.2011, Snižek” \\ “Coll Wrase\ Berlin” (green label)\\ “ Macrocheilus \ hybridus \ Péringuey, 1896 ” [h]\ “ A.Serrano det. 2021” [t] [h] .

Remarks. The species was originally described from Natal (Escourt) in Republic of South Africa ( Péringuey 1896) and later recorded for S. Rhodesia (= Zimbabwe) ( Basilewsky 1960), on the basis of a female adult specimen of the MRAC collection (see studied material) that we analysed also in 1992. The adult female specimen of Zimbabwe ( Fig. 5h ) fits the original description of this species. The study of this specimen allowed to describe the female genital armature of this species.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 8c ). Gonocoxite 1 subtriangular; gonocoxite 2 sickle shaped, short, apex pointed and turned out; dorsal surface concave, almost all covered with numerous setae, several setae inserted on an outer sub marginal longitudinal rib; ventral surface slightly convex, smooth.

Distribution. Republic of South Africa, Zimbabwe.
