Studied material. 1 female: “ Lanto \ Toumodi \Côte d`Ivoire”\\ “ 25.VIII.1971 \ Col. Chemin ”\\ “ Macrocheilus \ clasispilus \Basilw.” [h] \ “Ch. Lecordier det.” [t]\\ “ Macrocheilus \ clasispilus \ Basilewsky” [h]\ “ A.Serrano det. 2022” [t] [h].

Remarks. The species has a scattered distribution throughout Western and Central Africa ( Basilewsky 1967, Lorenz 2021). Macrocheilus clasispilus is recorded for Senegal for the first time.

Male genitalia. A short description and drawings of median lobe in lateral and dorso-apical views were provided by Basilewsky (1967, Figs. 2b View FIGURE 2 , 3b View FIGURE 3 ).

Female genitalia ( Fig. 8d View FIGURE 8 ). Gonocoxite 1 subtriangular; gonocoxite 2 largely sickle shaped, apex sharp; dorsal surface concave, almost all covered with numerous setae, several setae inserted on an outer sub marginal longitudinal rib, subapical inner margin with two setae; ventral surface convex, smooth.

Distribution. Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea, Republic of Ivory Coast, Republic of Rwanda, Senegal.
