Diagnosis. The melanic band in the posterior half of the thorax is unique.
Description. Body length 6.1. Fore wing length 4.7. Ovipositor length 3.7. Body color: antenna mostly melanic except scape mostly yellow otherwise head yellow; mesosoma mostly yellow except black band at midlength, i.e., posterior mesopleuron, posterior mesoscutum, scutellum and metanotum, and mid coxa, otherwise legs yellow, metasoma pale yellow/orange, darker markings may be a product of specimen damage after death. 44 flagellomeres. Fore wing weakly and evenly infuscate. Propodeum smooth in lateral 1/3 with large, shallow, smooth foveae in medial 1/3, with a weak short carinae along the midline anteriorly. Cub of hind wing not (or barely) pigmented.
Etymology. Named in honor of the late Dr Evert Schlinger, the collector of the type specimen, for his many contributions to entomology.
Specimens examined. Holotype ♀. USA, California, Thermal, Riverside Co., 33°38’N, 116°08’W, 16.ix.1957, E.I. Schlinger, H15384 (USNM).
