Diagnosis. Modified from that by Guţu (2006).

Maxilliped lacking plumose setae on outer margin of basal article. Cheliped without exopodite. Pereopod 1 with or without exopodite; dactylus with tuft of sensory setae; unguis absent. Males with dimorphic cheliped, having small carpus and very large propodus.

Geographic distribution. Eastern Atlantic Ocean (Western Coast of Africa) .

Species. Hemikalliapseudes hanstroemi Lang, 1956 , H. makellus Bamber, 2003 , and H. vasileradui Guţu, 2006 .
