Panaspis cabindae ( Bocage, 1866)

Material (two specimens): One adult specimen (MHNCUP/REP 266, formerly UP-MHNFCP-017381), collected from Lucálla [=Lucala] [-9.27268º, 15.25206º, 708 m a.s.l.] Kwanza Norte Province, in 1903; one adult specimen (MHNCUP/REP 267, formerly UP-MHNFCP-017380; Fig. S37 View FIGURE S ), collected from Catete [-9.11667º, 13.70000º, 21 m a.s.l.] Bengo Province, in September 1903 .

Comments: Panaspis cabindae is a species with a distribution extending from southwestern Democratic Republic of the Congo to southwestern Angola ( Marques et al. 2018; Ceríaco et al. 2020b). The presented specimens were cited as “ Ablepharus cabindae, Boc ” by Ferreira (1904) and are the only published records for the species from “Lucala” and “Catete” localities. Recently, Ceríaco et al. (2016a, 2018b, 2020b) and Medina et al. (2016) published new records for the species in Angola, including the first accounts for Bié, Luanda, Uíge, Malanje, Lunda Norte and Huíla provinces. This species is one of the most widespread in the country, despite the lack of published records ( Ceríaco et al. 2020b).
