Semnocera Vári, 1961 View in CoL

This monospecific genus was established by Vári (1961) and placed in close proximity to Conopomorpha . Vári cited several differences, including the separate R4, R5 and M1 veins. Additionally, in terms of male genitalia, the presence of two well-developed falces was noted. This genus is also related to Conopomorphina due to shared characteristics such as a short tegumen with falces, a valva with a serrated dorsal margin, and a sickle-shaped aedeagus (see table 57, figs 68 in Vári, 1961). However, it can be differentiated by the fact that the veins R5 and M1 not stalked. This genus has only been found in South Africa.
