Type Locality: Guyana, East Demerara-West Coast Berbice, "Hyde Park, 30 miles [48 km] up the Demerara River." .
Vernacular Names: Delicate Slender Opossum.
Distribution: E Colombia, N Venezuela, Guyana, French Guiana and N Brazil.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).
Discussion: Voss et al. (2001) considered Pine’s (1981) five subspecies to represent four species. The name parvidentata Tate, 1933, is an incorrect subsequent spelling of parvidens (Tate) .
