Gentiana listeri Burkill (1906: 314) View in CoL
Type: INDIA. Darjeeling, Tangloo, May 1877, J. Lister s.n. (lectotype CAL [barcode CAL 0000018099!] designated here).
Notes: Burkill (1906:314), in the protologue of this name, cited several syntypes collected by Anderson, Clarke, King and Lister. Unfortunately, Anderson’s specimen(s) could not be traced. We were able to find three specimens in CAL, viz. C. B. Clarke 27831 (barcode CAL 0000018098) collected from Yalka in Sikkim, and G. King. s.n. (barcode CAL 0000018097) and Lister s.n (barcode: CAL 0000018099) from Tangloo in Darjeeling district of West Bengal (‘ Sikkim Himalaya’). The specimen collected by Lister from Tangloo ( Fig. 3) corresponds most closely with the protologue than the other specimens, hence it is here designated as the lectotype for this name.
