Dromaeosaurus albertensis

Only the ventral half of the maxilla of the holotype specimen is known in Dromaeosaurus (e.g. Currie, 1995). As in the other maxillae described above, that of Dromaeosaurus bears numerous maxillary alveolar foramina below the antorbital fossa. A semicircular indentation on the preserved dorsal margin of the bone probably represents half of the promaxillary process based on its position, which is adjacent to the anterior border of the antorbital fossa ( Currie, 1995). The promaxillary fenestra in Dromaeosaurus differs from those of Deinonychus , Tsaagan , Velociraptor and most other dromaeosaurs in appearing circular rather than ovoid.
