Distribution: Sudan and SW Arabia to South Africa.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 – Not evaluated; not considered in IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001).
Discussion: Formerly included in schreibersii , but apparently distinct; see O'Shea and Vaughan (1980), Koopman (1994), and Peterson et al. (1995).
