Type Locality: "Near Masindi, Bunyoro [Bunyuru] Uganda, 4000 ft. [1219 m]", Africa.
Vernacular Names: Bunyoro Rabbit.
Synonyms: Poelagus larkeni St. Leger 1935 ; Poelagus oweni Setzer 1956 .
Distribution: S Sudan, Uganda, Ruanda, Burundi, NE Dem. Rep. Congo, Central African Republic, S Chad, disjunct population in Angola.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: This savanna-woodland species, like Pronolagus , is associated with rocky outcrops.
