Chrysis distinguenda SPINOLA 1838 : MAGRETTI 1884b: 535 (tax., Sudan).

D i s t r i b u t i o n: Sudan.

Known from the Palaearctic Region. MAGRETTI (1885b) is cited as reference in de DALLA TORRE (1892: 57), but Sudan is not mentioned in the distribution list. This record has been overlooked by subsequent authors, e.g. BISCHOFF (1913: 64), KIMSEY & BOHART (1990: 405) and LINSENMAIER (1999: 221). The status of Chrysis distinguenda SPINOLA is uncertain, because the type is probably lost. Paolo Rosa could not find the type neither in the Spinola Collection in the Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali in Turin, nor in the Zoologiska Museet in Lund.
