Known from the Palaearctic Region. Chrysis electa WALKER is cited as junior synonym of Chrysis viridissima KLUG 1845 in MOCSÁRY (1889: 426; 1909: 404), BISCHOFF (1913: 61), TRAUTMANN (1926b: 95) and LINSENMAIER (1969: 363), but as species incertae sedis in KIMSEY & BOHART (1990: 407, types probably lost). We follow KIMSEY & BOHART (1990). The record from Ethiopia is not mentioned in BISCHOFF (1913: 61) and KIMSEY & BOHART (1990: 407).
