BRULLÉ (1846) describes Chrysis aurifascia based on a single specimen from Serville’s collection. Spinola bought that collection, but the type is not housed in his collection in the Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali in Turin ( CASOLARI & CASOLARI MORENO (1980)). This species is also not mentioned in the papers of du BUYSSON (1898b and 1899) dealing with the material of the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris. The type is probably lost.

Chrysis semicincta LEPELETIER of SPINOLA (1838: 451) is based on the material of Klug, who sent it to Spinola under the name Poecilocera alternans, which is cited as Chrysis alternans var. a in DAHLBOM (1854: 236 partim).
