Known from the Palaearctic Region. LINSENMAIER (1999: 86) has transferred Hedychrum cyaneum BRULLÉ to the genus Hedychridium ABEILLE de PERRIN. As the type is probably lost (not in the Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali in Turin and in the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris), the generic placement is still uncertain.
