Distribution

It is a common species throughout the Mediterranean Basin. It is usually frequent and abundant throughout the Iberian Peninsula. It has already been reported for Castro Verde ( Silva 2004) and from other localities in the District of Beja and the rest of Portugal. Although its biology is not known in detail, S. carmeli has been seen climbing on vegetation, especially in citrus plantations, in search of prey.
