Type Locality: Denmark, Jutland, Dagbieg (near Wiborg).
Vernacular Names: Pond Myotis.
Synonyms: Myotis ferrugineus Temminck 1840 ; Myotis limnophilus Temminck 1839 ; Myotis major Ognev and Worobiev 1923 ; Myotis mystacinus Boie 1823 ; Myotis surinamensis Husson 1962 .
Distribution: France and Sweden east to Yenisei River ( Russia), south to Ukraine, NW Kazakhstan; a single record from Manchuria ( China).
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Vulnerable.
Discussion: Probably includes surinamensis ; see Carter and Dolan (1978).
