Diagnosis. Hairs and bristles on thorax brownish. 4 strong dc, acr absent. Fore tarsomere 1 with row of 8–10 v; mid tarsomere 1 with row of 5–6 yellow v; hind tarsomere 1 with 15– 16 erect short black ventral bristles on basal 1/4 and row of 7–8 pv. Surstylus on epandrium deeply furcated apically.
Description. Male. Body length 1.8–2.0 mm, wing length 1.9–2.1 mm.
Head metallic green with pale gray pollen; frons and face brilliant. Hairs and bristles on head brown. Ocellar tubercle weak, with 2 very long oc and 2 very short posterior hairs. Lower postocular bristles (including ventral hairs) pale. Antenna ( Fig. 58 View FIGURES 57–59 ) blackish; first flagellomere blackish, rather short, about 0.5 times as long as wide; arista subapical, with basal segment very short. Proboscis blackish, with brown hairs; palpus dark brown, with 2 brownish apical bristles.
Thorax metallic green with pale gray pollen, mesonotum and scutellum brilliant. Hairs and bristles on thorax brownish; 4 strong dc, acr absent; scutellum with 2 pairs of bristles. Propleuron with 1 yellow bristle on lower portion. Legs including coxae yellow with all tarsomere 5 brown. Hairs and bristles on legs brownish; fore and mid coxae with yellow hairs and bristles; fore coxa with 2–3 anterior and apical bristles, mid coxa with 1–2 anterior bristles, hind coxa with 1 brownish outer bristle near middle. Fore femur with 1 short av and 1 short pv apically; mid femur with 1 av and 1 pv apically; hind femur with 2 av and 1 pv apically. Mid tibia with 2 ad and 1 pd, apically with 4 bristles; hind tibia with 2 ad and 2 pd, apically with 4 bristles. Fore tarsomere 1 with row of 8–10 v; mid tarsomere 1 with row of 5–6 v; hind tarsomere 1 with 15–16 erect short black ventral bristles on basal 1/4 and row of 7–8 pv. Relative lengths of tibia and 5 tarsomeres of legs. LI 3.3: 2.0: 0.8: 0.6: 0.5: 0.4; LII 4.3: 2.5: 1.0: 0.8: 0.4: 0.4; LIII 4.8: 1.9: 1.2: 0.9: 0.5: 0.5.
Wing hyaline ( Fig. 57 View FIGURES 57–59 ), veins brownish; R 4+5 and M parallel apically, CuAx ratio 0.28. Squama yellow with pale yellow hairs. Halter yellow.
Abdomen metallic green with pale gray pollen, dorsum brilliant. Hairs and bristles on abdomen brown.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 59 View FIGURES 57–59 ). Epandrium about as long as wide, apically with long fingerlike lateral process; surstylus broad, apical part deeply furcated; cercus short and round.
Female. Unknown.
Type material. Holotype male, GUANGXI: Mao’ershan, Tongren, 2.V.2004, Y. Xu ( CAU, Beijing) . Paratypes 2 males, GUANGXI : Mao’ershan, Tongren, 5.V.2004, D. Yang ( CAU, Beijing) .
Etymology. The specific epithet derives from the name of the collector Yanling Xu.
Comments. This new species is similar to Chrysotimus shennongjianus Yang and Saigusa from Hubei, but may be separated from the latter by hairs and bristles on thorax brownish, and deep furcated surstylus. In C. shennongjianus , the hairs and bristles on thorax are yellow, and the surstylus is not furcated ( Yang and Saigusa, 2001a).
