Diagnosis. First flagellomere subtriangular, as long as wide. Hind tarsomere 1 with 2 sparse black bristles at base and row of 7–8 pv. Epandrium with 2 fingerlike lateral processes.
Description. Male. Body length 1.6 mm, wing length 2.1 mm
Head metallic green with pale gray pollen; frons and face brilliant. Hairs and bristles on head yellow. Ocellar tubercle weak, with 2 very long oc and 2 very short posterior hairs. Antenna ( Fig. 33 View FIGURES 32–34 ) brown; first flagellomere subtriangular, about as long as wide; arista dorsal, brown, with short pubescence. Proboscis brown, with brownish hairs; palpus yellow, with yellow hairs and 2 brownish apical bristles.
Thorax metallic green with gray pollen. Hairs and bristles on thorax yellow; 6 dc, 9– 10 irregularly paired acr short and hairlike; scutellum with 2 pairs of bristles. Propleuron with 1 yellow hair and 1 yellow bristle on lower portion. Legs [fore tarsomeres 3–5 broken] yellow, with mid and hind tarsomere 5 brown. Hairs and bristles on legs yellow; coxae with yellow hairs and bristles; fore coxa with 3–4 anterior and apical bristles, mid coxa with 3 anterior bristles, hind coxa with 1 brownish outer bristle near middle. Mid femur with 1 av and 1 pv apically, hind femur with 1 av apically. Mid tibia with 2 ad and 2 pd; hind tibia with 2 ad, 2 pd, and 3–4 pv on apical half. Fore tarsomere 1 with row of about 10 v; mid tarsomere 1 with row of 7–8 v; hind tarsomere 1 just with 2 sparse black ventral bristles at base and row of 7–8 pv. Relative lengths of tibia and 5 tarsomeres of legs LI 3.2: 1.8: 0.7:?:?:?; LII 4.2: 2.3: 0.9: 0.6: 0.4: 0.4; LIII 5.0: 1.6: 1.0: 0.7: 0.5: 0.5.
Wing hyaline ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 32–34 ), veins brownish; R 4+5 and M parallel apically, CuAx ratio 0.21. Squama yellow with pale hairs. Halter yellow.
Abdomen metallic green with pale gray pollen. Hairs and bristles on abdomen brownish.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 32–34 ). Epandrium distinctly longer than wide, somewhat square, apically with 2 fingerlike lateral processes; surstylus slender, apically with bristles; cercus long, with broad base.
Female. Unknown.
Type material. Holotype male, NINGXIA: Jingliuhe , 13.VII.1980, Ch. Yang (Beijing).
Etymology. The specific epithet derives from the type locality Ningxia.
Comments. This new species is similar to Chrysotimus apicicurvatus Yang from Zhejiang, but may be separated from the latter by the first flagellomere subtriangular, about as long as wide, surstylus and cercus slender. In C. apicicurvatus , the first flagellomere is 0.55 times as long as wide, surstylus and cercus are broad (Yang, 2001).
