Corynoptera nyxa ( Mohrig & Menzel, 1992)
Scatopsciara nyxa Mohrig & Menzel, 1992: 13 View in CoL . Corynoptera nyxa, Menzel & Mohrig (2000)
Description: See Mohrig and Menzel (1992).
Discussion. This species was described from Austria: Nordtirol, Rosskar (2650 m). Even though the authors originally placed it in the genus Scatopsciara Frey , they specifically mentioned its similarity to Corynoptera vagula and C. fera . We have not seen this species but the original description, based on the holotype and two paratypes, is good. We are not repeating the description here, nor have we found it necessary to restudy the type material. Corynoptera nyxa resembles C. fera and C. armigera in the arrangement of the megasetae on the gonostylus, but the megasetae are smaller. The tegmen is reminiscent of that of C. fera , but the antennal flagellomeres more closely resemble those in other species of the group ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 ). In the original description, the gonocoxites are drawn as medially united, which is different from the condition in related species.
