Tremapterus (Tremiziana) gen.nov.

Etymology. arbitrary combination of letters, representing Trem [apterus] + [Patr] iziana (f).

Type-species. Tremapterus araneosus sp. nov.

Distribution. Savanna regions of Namibia and Botswana.

Diagnosis. Face brown, unmarked; markings of dorsum sexually dimorphic, darkest in male; crown unmarked, or with rufous longitudinal stripes as in subgenus Patriziana . Pronotum declivous, sparsely punctate, shiny; tegmina punctate, veins apically carinate, forming 2 small, nearly square cells at wing tips ( Figs 8 L, P); legs as in subgenus Abbalomba . Sexual dimorphism slight to considerable. Ovipositor tapered to pointed tip, with tooth on apical half of dorsal margin much before long, fused bases ( Figs 11 J–L). Length: 4–5 mm.

Included taxa: 4 species, all new to science.
