Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc) as M. bondae .
Discussion: This species was formerly known as bondae , but currentium (previously listed as a junior synonym of molossus ) is an earlier name; see López-González and Presley (2001). Subspecies nomenclature revised by López-González and Presley (2001). Also see Burnett et al. (2001).
