A rather scattered neotropical species known mainly from the West Indies, with additional records from Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, Galápagos Islands, Guayana, and Surinam (Uribe & Gradstein 2003; Fulford & Sharp 1990; Stephani 1911); new to Central America.
