Chiriqui: 26, epiphyllous, mixed with Metzgeria scyphigera , 34573 p.p. Coclé: Loc. 6, epiphyllous, 34262/D.

So far known only from Cuba, Jamaica, and Guadeloupe ( Tixier 1985; Dong et al. 2012); new to Central America.

Schäfer-Verwimp & Reiner-Drehwald (2009) regarded D. cubensis as an extreme form of D. brunnea and put it in synonymy of the latter. However, fide Dong et al. (2012) Diplasiolejeunea cubensis may be accepted as a good species based on phylogentic evidence. It is best distinguished from D. brunnea by its small or rudimentary lobule teeth.
