A scattered neotropical species occurring primarily in the Amazonian lowland, known from Brazil, Suriname, Venezuela and Bolivia ( Bastos 2012), recorded also from Colombia ( Campos et al. 2014) and the Pacific coast of Ecuador ( Schäfer-Verwimp et al. 2013). First record for Central America and from altitudes between 670–1630 m. However, Bastos (2012) reported this species even from higher altitudes (1200–1910 m) from Espírito Santo, Brazil.
