Chiriqui: Loc. 20, 30985; 26, 34573, mixed with a few Diplasiolejeunea cubensis , 34575/B, 34594/A, all epiphyllous.
An Afro-American species, in America widespread from Mexico to Bolivia and Brazil with isolated stations in Tierra del Fuego of Chile and Argentina ( Costa 2008); recently reported from Rwanda, Central Africa (Bednarek- Ochyra & Ochyra 2013).
