** Leptolejeunea convexistipa Bischl.

So far known from Brazil (type), Costa Rica ( Lücking 1995, as L. cf. convexistipa ), and Ecuador (Heinrichs et al. 2014); however, its distribution is incompletely known since it was included in the polymorphous L. maculata (Mitt.) Schiffn. ( Grolle 1976) . Recent molecular studies provided some evidence that this complex may include several species, and therefore L. convexistipa was kept separately ( Heinrichs et al. 2014a).
