Widespread neotropical species, known from the West Indies ( Dominica, Guadeloupe, Dominican Republic), Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Brazil ( Dauphin et al. 2008; Schäfer-Verwimp & Pócs 2009, both as Oryzolejeunea ).
Recent phylogenetic studies ( Ye et al. 2013) revealed that Oryzolejeunea is nested in Lejeunea .
