Probolomyrmex longinodus Terayama & Ogata, 1988 View in CoL ( Figs 5–8 View Figures 5–8 )

Probolomyrmex longinodus Terayama & Ogata, 1988: 592 View in CoL , figs 7–9.

Diagnosis. Median vertical lamella of frontoclypeal projection in lateral view relatively high and with rounded dorsal outline (see Fig. 6 View Figures 5–8 ). In lateral view propodeal teeth and posterodorsal corner of petiole less prominent, close to a right angle. In dorsal view posterior margin of petiole complete and weakly convex in dorsal view.

Description of workers (n = 2, Figs 5–8 View Figures 5–8 ). TL 3.1–3.2, HL 0.69–0.72, HW 0.45, CI 63–65, SL 0.53–0.62, SI 118–138, PW 0.37, MSL 1.01–1.02, PL 0.41–0.42, DPW 0.22–0.23, PH 0.28, LPI 67–68, DPI 52–56.

In full-face view, head longer than broad, anterior 1/4 narrowed; posterior 3/4 nearly rectangular; posterior margin slightly concave; lateral margins evenly convex. Median vertical lamella of frontoclypeal projection in lateral view relatively high and with rounded dorsal outline (see Fig. 6 View Figures 5–8 ). Antennae 12-segmented, scape relatively longer, reaching to posterior margin of head, flagellum incrassate toward apex.

In lateral view, dorsal outline of mesosoma weakly convex at anterior 1/3; almost straight at posterior 2/3. Propodeal declivity deeply concave. Posterior margin of propodeum deeply concave and with a pair of acute propodeal teeth.

Petiole relatively long, abruptly curved anteriorly, weakly convex dorsally and forming an arch; posterodorsal corner acutely toothed, posterior margin deeply concave; ventral margin weakly convex and then concave posteriorly, anteroventral corner acutely toothed. In dorsal view, petiole narrowed anteriorly at anterior 1/3 and almost rectangular at posterior 2/3, posterior margin complete and weakly convex.

Body surface finely micro-reticulate and relatively dim; sides of mesosoma, petiole and gaster overlain by abundant small foveolae. Body dorsum with dense depressed short pubescence, without standing hairs; scape and tibiae with dense depressed short pubescence and without standing hairs. Body yellowish brown.

Material examined. 2 workers, CHINA: Hainan, Qiongzhong, Mt. Limu , 19.17°N, 109.71°E, elev. 681 m, 3.IV.2016, leg. Zhilin Chen, No. G GoogleMaps 160136.

Distribution. China ( Taiwan, Hainan), Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Borneo, Brunei Darussalam.

Remarks. P. longinodus is very similar to P. longiscapus , but well distinguished from the latter by the less prominent propodeal teeth and posterodorsal corner of petiole in lateral view, the complete posterior margin of petiole in dorsal view.
