Type locality. Vietnam (Dak Lak: Yok Don ) . Type material. SORC, Vietnam .

Examined material. 2 C (SORC-HPV.038) stream bank, Yok Don, Dak No, Dak Lak, 10/1989, coll. Huynh Thi Kim Hoi.

Records from Vietnam. Dak Lak (Yon Don NP) ( Thai et al. 1992; Huynh 2005a).

Distribution. Only known from Vietnam.

Vietnamese name. Giun đôi túi nhận tinh lưng.

Remarks. The species is fairly similar to M. dorsomonotheca ( Thai & Samphon, 1988) from Laos, but differs in having three pairs of spermathecal pores in intersegments 6/7/8/9 and larger body size. Blakemore (2007a, 2008b) considered it as " species inquirenda ". Material was re-examined and presence of male copulatory pouches and hence placement of the species in Metaphire is confirmed here.
