Type locality. Vietnam (Nghe An: Ky Son ).

Type material. SORC, Vietnam.

Examined material. 4 C (SORC-V.060.01), 1 C (SORC-HV.060), 8 C and 2 A (CTU-EW.064.01) Muong Long, Ky Son, Nghe An, 31/12/1985, coll. Tran Ba Cu.

Records from Vietnam. Nghe An (Ky Son) ; Phu Tho (Xuan Son NP) ( Thai & Tran 1986; Do 1994; Huynh et al. 2005).

Distribution. Only known from Vietnam.

Vietnamese name. Giun kỳ sƠn.

Remarks. The species is fairly similar to Amynthas tuberculatus ( Gates, 1935) in having three pairs of spermathecal pores in intersegments 5/6/7/8 and strongly lobuled intestinal caeca. However, it can be distinguished by stable and large genital markings in both spermathecal and male regions ( Thai & Tran 1986). Blakemore (2007a, 2008b) considered it as " species inquirenda ". Material was re-examined and absence of male copulatory pouches and hence placement of the species in Amynthas is confirmed here.
