Amynthas manicatus quefongensis ( Do & Tran, 1994)
Pheretima manicata quefongensis Do & Tran, 1994 (in: Do et al. 1994): 25, fig. 1D; Thai 2000a: 309. Amynthas manicatus quefongensis— Blakemore 2007a: 62; Blakemore 2008b.
Type locality. Vietnam (Nghe An: Que Phong ).
Type material. SORC, Vietnam.
Examined material. 2 C (SORC-V.068.04) primary forest, Tri Le, Que Phong, Nghe An, 28/12/1987; 7 C (SORC-V.068.07) Muong Long, Tri Le, Que Phong, Nghe An. 12/1987; 10 C (CTU-EW.068.01) Xuan Hoa, Tuyen Hoa, Quang Binh, 1991.
Records from Vietnam. Nghe An (Que Phong) (Do et al. 1994).
Distribution. Only known from Vietnam.
Vietnamese name. Giun manh tràng bàn tay quế phong.
Remarks. The subspecies can be recognised from other subspecies by having three pairs of spermathecal pores in 6/7/8/9; septa 5/6/7/8 very thickened (Do et al. 1994). Blakemore (2007a, 2008b) considered it as " species inquirenda ". Material was re-examined and absence of male copulatory pouches and hence placement of the species in Amynthas is confirmed here.
