Type species. Pontodrilus marionis Perrier, 1874 (= Lumbricus litoralis Grube, 1855 ).
Distribution. One species ( Pontodrilus litoralis ) widely found on shorelines in the tropics and warmer parts of continents and islands; others in Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and China ( Blakemore 2002). Remarks. Only one species has been recorded in Vietnam.
