Type locality. Vietnam (Nghe An: Quy Hop ).

Type material. SORC, Vietnam.

Examined material. 8 C, 4 A (SORC-V.008.01) Bu Co mountain, Que Phong , Nghe An, 15/5/1988 ; 16 C (CTU-EW.044.01) Chau Thanh, Quy Hop , Nghe An, 16/5/1988 .

Records from Vietnam. Phu Tho (Xuan Son NP) ; Nghe An (Quy Hop; Tan Ky; Que Phong; Quy Chau) ( Do et al. 1995; Huynh et al. 2005).

Distribution. Only known from Vietnam.

Vietnamese name. Giun anderson bé.

Remarks. The subspecies, originally named Pheretima andersoni minima Do & Tran, 1995 , differs from Pheretima andersoni andersoni ( Michaelsen, 1907) in fewer setae, much smaller body size and genital markings presenting till 20/21 ( Do et al. 1995). Blakemore (2006) proposed a new name, Amynthas andersoni doettrani to replace Pheretima andersoni minima , which was considered as a junior homonym of Amynthas minimus (Horst, 1893) . Under ICZN (1999, Arts. 16; 53.3; 57.2), the name Pheretima andersoni minima is permanently invalid. Material was re-examined and absence of male copulatory pouches and hence placement of the species in Amynthas is confirmed here.
