13. Criotettix nigripennis View in CoL sp.nov. ( Figs.2 View FIGURE 2 )

Diagnosis

Criotettix nigripennis sp.nov. is easily distinguished from the other species of the genus Criotettix by width of vertex narrower than the width of an eye, disc of pronotum coarsely, with numerous small tubercles, midkeel of pronotum interrupted, wings only reaching 3/4 of hind femur, not reaching the top of caudal end of pronotum, hind pulvillus of first segment of hind tarsus longer than first and second.

Description

Ψ Figs. 2 View FIGURE 2 a,2b: Size small, thickset. Head not exserted above the pronotal surface. Width of vertex equal to the width of an eye, anterior margin of vertex arced, not protruding beyond eyes ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 c), lateral ridge slightly raised, median carina distinctly, in profile, vertex and frontal ridge forming an obtuse round shape( Fig.2 View FIGURE 2 d). Frontal ridge protruding archly between antennae, width of longitudinal furrow slightly narrower than width of first segment of antennae. Antenna filiform, 15-segmented, length of a segment in middle about 7 times longer than width, inserted one third of anterior margin of eyes ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 e). Eyes globose, lateral ocelli placed on middle of anterior margins of eyes. Disc of pronotum coarsely, with numerous small tubercles, anterior margin of pronotum straight, midkeel of pronotum interrupted ( Fig.2 View FIGURE 2 a), upper margin of pronotum undulated in profile ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 b). Lateral keels of prozona constricted backward slightly ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 a), humeral angle widely rounded, with a pair short longitudinal keels between shoulder ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 a), caudal end of pronotum narrow, short cone-shaped, just surpassing the top of hind femora, length of hind process which surpassing behind top of hind femur about 0.7–1 mm ( Fig.2 View FIGURE 2 a,2b). Lateral lobes of pronotum turning outwardly, posterior angles directed distinctly backwards, apex of posterior angles strident, posterior margin of each lateral lobe with two bisinuate. Tegmina long, ovate, apex narrowly rounded. Hind wings abbreviated, only reaching 3/4 of hind femur, not reaching the top of hind process ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 b). Upper and lower margins of fore and middle femora straight ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 f), width of midfemur 1.2 times wider than the width of tegmina. Hind femur 3 times longer than wide, antegenicular and genicular denticles right angle. Outer side of hind tibia with 8 spines, inner side with 7 spines. Length of first segment of hind tarsus longer than third, third pulvillus longer than first and second, apices of first and second sharp, apices of third obtuse ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 g). Ovipositor narrow and long, length of upper valvulae 3.5 times its width, upper and lower valvulae with slender saw-like teeth. Length of subgenital plate equal to its width, middle of posterior margin of subgenital plate with a triangular convex ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 h).

Body dark brown. Wings black ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 b). Hind femur brown. lower outer side black ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 b). Hind tibia dark brown.

ɗ: Body size smaller than Ψ, feature of structure similar to Ψ. Subgenital plate brief cone-shaped, apex sharp( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 i).

Measurements: Length of body: ɗ 8–8.5 mm; Ψ 11–12.5 mm; length of pronotum: ɗ 7.5–8 mm; Ψ 11.5–12 mm; length of hind femur: ɗ 5.5–6 mm, Ψ 6.5–7 mm.
