Non-type material examined. India: 1 male: ‘India / Orient [h]; Ex Mus / Parry [h]; 43297 [h]; NHMUK014596464 ’.

Comments. This species is very similar to M. tenuevittata ( Pic, 1930) ( Figure 8e–j , identified as M. sonthianae in the NHM collection). Comparison of the type specimens will probably reveal that M. assamensis Breuning, 1938 is a junior synonym of M. tenuevittata ( Pic, 1930) .
