Type material. Holotype ♂, Namibia, Okatjikona , Waterberg NP, 14–18.ii.2008, LF, leg. W. Mey, gen. slide 129/12, O. Bidzilya (in MfN).
Diagnosis. Antoniejanse mediopunctata sp. nov. has pale, light, off-white forewing with two distinct brown spots in middle and two diffuse brown spots under costal margin ( A. sagittata differs in black irroration (or streak) in fold and distinct black spot on ¾ of dorsal margin). In the male genitalia A. mediopunctata sp. nov. has relatively wide glandiductor with inwardly curved narrow apex; sacculus and juxta process are reduced (in A. sagittata sacculus and juxta process are present; in A. minima sp. nov. sacculus is also reduced, but glandiductor is much longer, exceeding top of uncus and curved at 1/3).
Description ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 11–18 ). Wingspan of holotype 8.7 mm. Head off-white, mixed with brown, labial palpus recurved, segment 2 brown with white basal and medial belt, inner surface white, segment 3 as broad and slightly shorter than segment 3, grey mixed with light-brown; scape grey; flagellum light-brown; thorax and tegulae off-white; forewing off-white with light-yellow shadow, two large brown spots in middle, black touch at base and diffuse brown spot in middle of costal margin, brown suffusion on costa near apex; fringes white tipped with grey; hindwing and its fringes light grey.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 29–34 ). Uncus subtrapezoid, posteromedial incision short, slender; gnathos reduced; tegumen broad at base, distal 3/4–2/3 narrow, subrectangular, anteromedial emargination short, subtriangular; glandiductor digitate, straight, distal 1/4 curved inwards, apex pointed; sacculus and juxta process absent; phallus weakly curved at base, distal part straight, apex pointed or rounded.
Female genitalia. Unknown.
Biology. Larval stages and hostplant unknown. Adults have been collected in mid February.
Distribution. Namibia.
Etymology. The name of this species is derived from the Latin “ medialis ”—middle, and “ punctum ”—spot, referring to characteristic dark markings in the middle of the forewing of the new species.
