Osbornellus (Mavromoustaca) Dlabola View in CoL
Remarks. In addition to the species below (originally described from Cyprus and subsequently Turkey) this subgenus contains arboropictus Dlabola, 1984: 49–50, figs 85–92 and deviaticus Dlabola, 1974: 68–69, figs 93–96, both from Iran.
Osbornellus (Mavromoustaca) macchiae Lindberg (Plate 1, e; Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 ).
Material examined. Pakistan: several 3 and Ƥ, Tharparkar, 12.xi.07, I. Khatri.
Remarks. The original figures of this species and its synonym O. consanguinea Dlabola (see checklist) indicate a lateral process of the male pygofer but our examination shows that the process is not free from the lobe and is perhaps more accurately described as a sclerotised process-like area ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 d). In addition the interconnecting membrane is found to have a sclerotised strut with short spine-like setae at and near its posterior end ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 k), the Xth segment is sclerotised both dorsolaterally and as a narrow band dorsomedially ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 e) and the aedeagal shaft has a longitudinal ridge either side of its ventral margin and its apex more lightly sclerotised ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 k). See also remarks under Monobazus dissimilis .
