Redescription. Length 12.3–12.4 mm, width 9.4–9.5 mm. General color yellow; antennomeres VI–XI, thoracic and abdominal ventrites black; legs yellowish but most parts of femora dark brown. Antennae filiform in males ( Fig. 67A View FIGURE 67 ), antennomeres III longest, III–V slightly serrate, VI–XI elongate, length ratios of antennomeres I–XI 1.0: 0.5: 1.1: 1.0: 1.0: 0.9: 0.9: 0.9: 0.8: 0.7: 0.8, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–IX 2.6: 1.9: 3.5: 3.2: 3.0: 2.7: 2.9: 2.7: 2.5: 2.5: 3.1; shorter in female ( Fig. 67B View FIGURE 67 ), length ratios of antennomeres I–XI 1.0: 0.5: 0.8: 0.9: 0.7: 0.7: 0.8: 0.7: 0.6: 0.6: 0.7, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–IX 3.0: 1.9: 3.4: 3.4: 2.7: 2.7: 3.0: 2.7: 2.2: 2.2: 3.2. Pronotum transverse, 2.2x wider than long, disc without fine punctures, basolateral angles rounded, apico-lateral angles rectangular, apical margin strongly concave. Elytra oval, widest near base, 1.1x longer than wide; moderately convex, epipleurae located at 7/10 distance between suture and lateral margins. Penis ( Figs 67C–67E View FIGURE 67 ) elongate, 6.0x longer than wide; parallel-sided; apically bifurcate, apices approximate; tectum with deep notch at middle; slightly curved in lateral view, apex narrowly rounded; ventral surface membranous inside apex, with elongate membranous area extending from apex to near base; endophallic sclerite complex comprising one pair of lateral sclerites, dorso-ventrally flattened, with erect process at middle, base connected with dorsal surface of penis. Apical margin of abdominal ventrite V in female rounded. Gonocoxae (Fig. F) separate, with kidney shaped. Ventrite VIII ( Fig. 67G View FIGURE 67 ) longitudinal, medially depressed at apical margin, with dense, short setae along apical margin, much denser at medial area; spiculum long and well sclerotized. Receptacle of spermatheca ( Fig. 67H View FIGURE 67 ) as wide as pump, connected to pump, basally narrowed; pump strongly curved; proximal spermathecal duct short, covered with transverse grooves at apex.
Variation. Specimens of this species are extremely variable in the forms of the antennae and male aedeagi. Some specimens possess short antennae (length to width ratios of antennomeres I–IX 2.6: 1.8: 2.6: 3.0: 2.6: 2.4: 2.0: 1.6: 1.6: 1.5: 2.0), as in O. maculata , but differ in possessing black mesothoracic ventrites, metepisterna, and abdomen.
Diagnosis. This species belongs to the Oides tarsata species group. For differences between species see diagnosis of Oides geiseri sp. nov.
