Redescription. Length 11.3–13.2 mm, width 7.9–8.9 mm. General color ( Figs 47D–47G View FIGURE 47 ) orange; antennomeres VI–XI, two pairs of small black spots at sides of pronotum; metaventrite and metepisterna black, one pair of black spots at sides of each abdominal ventrite; tarsi darker. Antennae filiform in males ( Fig. 63A View FIGURE 63 ), antennomeres I longest, III–V slightly serrate, VI–VII elongate, VIII–XI stout, length ratios of antennomeres I–XI 1.0: 0.5: 0.8: 0.8: 0.7: 0.8: 0.7: 0.7: 0.7: 0.7: 0.9, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–XI 2.5: 1.5: 2.6: 2.6: 2.2: 2.4: 2.3: 2.1: 2.1: 1.7: 2.6; similar in females ( Fig. 63B View FIGURE 63 ), length ratios of antennomeres I–XI 1.0: 0.6: 1.0: 0.9: 0.7: 0.8: 0.8: 0.8: 0.8: 0.7: 0.9, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–XI 2.5: 1.6: 3.2: 2.5: 2.2: 2.4: 2.2: 1.8: 1.9: 1.8: 2.6. Pronotum transverse, 2.3x wider than long, disc without fine punctures, with lateral fovea at inner pair of black spots, baso- and apico-lateral angles rounded, apical margin weakly concave. Elytra elongate oval, widest at middle, 1.3x longer than wide; disc without reticulate microsculpture but with sparse, irregular, coarse punctures, moderately convex, epipleurae located 9/10 distance between suture and lateral margins, strongly broadened at basal 1/5, and abbreviated at basal 1/3; humeral calli visible, with depression indistinct behind. Penis ( Figs 63C–63E View FIGURE 63 ) wide, 4.6x longer than wide; widest at apical 1/4, apex bifurcate at apical 1/5; tectum short and wide, recurved at middle; slightly curved in lateral view, apices hooked; ventral surface with extremely deep and narrow notch from apex to basal 1/3, apices narrowly rounded, internal sac without sclerites. Apical margin of abdominal ventrite V in female broadly rounded. Gonocoxae reduced. Ventrite VIII ( Fig. 63F View FIGURE 63 ) transverse, apex broadly rounded but medially depressed, with long setae along apical margin; spiculum short. Receptacle of spermatheca ( Fig. 63G View FIGURE 63 ) as wide as pump, connected to pump, basally narrowed; pump strongly curved, apically narrowed; proximal spermathecal duct short with wider, apically sclerotized area at base, covered with dense, minute setae.

Variation. Specimens from Laos and Myanmar possess entirely black legs.

Diagnosis. Members of Oides livida (Fabricius) and O. semipunctata Duvivier are characterized by their broadly oval elytra with irregular coarse punctures, but those of O. semipunctata can be distinguished from those of O. livida by the presence of black spots on the pronotum. In males, the aedeagi of O. semipunctata differ from those of O. livida in possessing a broader tectum (apically tapering tectum in O. livida ), broad and angular lateral processes (slender and rounded lateral processes in O. livida ), and a deep ventral notch (shallow notch in O. livida ).
