Diagnosis. MALE. Gena with large dense to confluent punctures; clypeus basomedially elevated forming basal and subbasal denticles, and with a pair of subapical weak tubercles. Dense recumbent pale setae on dorsum of prono- tum anteriorly short and posteriorly long, mixed with sparse long erect pale setae; lateral face of pronotum entirely rugoso-punctate; scutellum and metascutellum with long erect pale golden setae; ventral tubercle on mesopleuron laterally largely depressed; propodeum with basomedial elongate to semicircular cell and with large semicircular cell laterally to median one. Metasomal segments 1–4 yellowish red. FEMALE. Frons with sparse golden to black recumbent setae; frons and vertex with dense but separated punctures. T2 with apical narrow band of pale golden to golden setae, medially widened triangularly; T6 with thickened lateral pygidial fringe of pale golden setae; pygidial area rugoso-striate basally, unsculptured on apical 1/6–1/5.

Confirmed distribution. China. Vietnam.

Other localities in the literature. South Korea ( Lelej et al. 2001).

Synonymic notes. Chen (1957) distinguished N. limi nanhai from the nominotypical subspecies by having the setal spot and bands on the metasoma “silvery” (“brightly golden yellow” in N. limi limi ). The setal color continuously changes as mentioned above and intermediate forms were examined. Therefore, N. limi nanhai is synonymized under the nominotypical form here.

Remarks. Lelej (1995a) and Lelej et al. (2001) recorded N. wotani from Vietnam and South Korea based on one female. Judging from the confirmed distributions of N. limi , N. wotani and N. yasumatsui , these records should be attributed to N. limi .
