Etymology. The specific epithet is a noun and refers to the small size of the species.
Diagnosis. Goeldia mirim resembles G. goytacazes in size but differs by the presence of dorsal chevron marks in the opisthosoma, by the tegular process enlarged at the base and pointed at the tip ( Fig. 16A View FIGURE 16 ), and by the conical patellar apophysis, almost straight and with apex blunt ( Fig. 16B‒C View FIGURE 16 ). Females of Goeldia mirim differ from those of G. goytacazes by the rounded posterior margin of the epigynum median field, wide copulatory opening area with copulatory duct wall visible ( Fig. 16E View FIGURE 16 ), and long vertical and horizontal spermathecae ( Fig. 16F View FIGURE 16 ).
Description. Male (Paratype, MPEG 10015): Coloration: carapace with cephalic area dark brown and thoracic area brown; sternum, labium and femur I, brown; other leg segments yellowish brown with apex brown; metatarsus IV brown. Female (Paratype, MPEG 010036). Coloration: as in male but with legs slightly darker ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ). Total length: 3.0. Carapace: length 1.35, width 1.05, height 0.78. Leg spines absent. Epigynum with reduced rim ( Fig. 16E View FIGURE 16 ). Copulatory duct wall visible at the copulatory opening area ( Fig. 16E View FIGURE 16 ). Vertical spermathecae slender and apex of copulatory ducts acute ( Fig. 16F View FIGURE 16 ).
Variation. Opisthosoma pattern may vary and spots can be fused in stripes. Length (10 ♂): total 3.0–4.0; carapace 1.65–1.75; femur I 1.15–1.76; (10 ♀): total 3.56–4.2; carapace 1.38–1.72; femur I 1.0–1.08. We observed in some females a vertical spermathecae divided at the apex.
Distribution. Central and northern Brazil: Maranhão, Rondônia, Piauí and Mato Grosso ( Fig. 25 View FIGURE 25 ).
