Genus Rhyssalus Haliday View in CoL View at ENA
This genus consists of 10 described species, including two known from fossils only ( Yu et al. 2005). It is represented in the Neotropical, Oriental, and Palearctic regions. Species from tropical regions need to be assessed to determine if they belong in Rhyssalus or should be transferred to other genera (see, for example, Belokobylskij & Maeto 2006). One species exhibits brachyptery (female) ( Tobias & Belokobylskij 1981).
