Remarks

1) The locality “Ega” mentioned by Crotch (1876) currently corresponds to “Tefè”, in the state of Amazonas, North Brazil ( Alvarenga 1994), and we use the name Tefé, rather than Ega, throughout the text. 2) The penile flagellum of Mycotretus balteatus has a flagellar ring-shaped head, similar to that present in other Mycotretus (e.g., M. pygmaeus , M. deyrollei , M. maculatus ).
