Remarks

Junior synonym of M. tigratus Lacordaire, 1842 ( Fig. 37D , see below). Mader (1951) considered “ nigrocintus Lacordaire ” an “aberration” of M. tigratus and this interpretation was followed by Alvarenga (1994). However, in this case the assignment of “aberration” is incorrect (see Remarks on M. tigratus below).
