Distribution. Belgium, Germany, Norway, Romania, Russia ( Negrobov & Naglis 2016), Sweden ( Persson et al. 2019) and Czech Republic (present paper).

Status in CZ. The first records are given herein; the specimen from Podyjí (Zadní Hamry) was erroneously identified and recorded as M. bisecta by Olejníček et al. (2005).

Ecology. Predominantly on trunks of deciduous trees, but also on boulders and rocky outcrops (Antýgl, Čepice) in forest habitats, from lowlands to higher elevations up to 900 m a.s.l. Pollet et al. (2011) recorded the species mainly from walls of buildings.

Remarks. Minute species closely related to Medetera muralis and M. peloria Negrobov, 1967 , and differing by the shape of the apical part of the phallus. It is necessary to remove (or push aside) the hypandrium to examine this feature. Only 1– 2 males from each sample were examined in detail (the identity of females listed above is tentative).
